Here's What to Expect After You Reach Out

Reaching out is often the hardest part. Once you do, the process is straightforward, unhurried, and entirely focused on your comfort and clarity.

Robyn Responds Personally

Within one to two business days, you'll receive a personal response from Robyn — not an automated system — to acknowledge your message and schedule a brief introductory call.

A 20-Minute Introductory Call

This no-pressure phone call lets you share a little about what's bringing you in, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for whether working together feels like the right fit.

Your First Session

If you decide to move forward, your first full session is a collaborative intake — a chance to go deeper, establish goals, and begin building the trust that makes real therapeutic work possible.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Answers to a Few Things People Often Wonder Before Reaching Out

It's completely normal to have questions before contacting a therapist for the first time. Here are straightforward answers to some of the most common ones.

  • Is everything I share completely confidential?

Yes. Everything you share with Robyn is protected by strict professional confidentiality laws. The only exceptions are the rare, legally mandated situations involving imminent risk of harm — which Robyn will explain clearly during your first session. Confidentiality is the foundation of the therapeutic relationship.
  • What does the first session actually look like?

Your first session is a collaborative intake. Robyn will ask about your history, what's bringing you in, and what you're hoping to work toward. There's no pressure to share everything at once. The first session is as much about you getting a feel for the process as it is about Robyn gathering information.
  • What is your cancellation policy?

Robyn asks for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to the full session fee. Life happens — Robyn handles these situations with understanding and directness.
  • Do you work with couples and individuals?

Yes. Robyn works with both individual adults and couples. Some clients begin individually and later involve a partner; others come as a couple from the start. Robyn will work with you to determine the right format for your goals.
  • How long does therapy typically take?

Therapy at Robyn's practice is structured and goal-oriented — not open-ended or vague. Most clients work through a clear beginning, middle, and end phase. The length depends on the depth of the work, but Robyn will give you honest guidance on what to expect for your specific situation.
  • Do you accept insurance?

Robyn is a private-pay practice. She can provide a monthly superbill if you'd like to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Many PPO plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network therapy — your insurance provider can tell you what your benefits cover.
